We have been breeding siamese cats for over 20 years, but with many breaks
and in a very small way. We usually don't have more than one breeding queen,
and rarely more than four cats at a time. Our cats stay with us for life,
and hopefully live to a ripe old age.
We are serving our third generation
of cats! My first breeding queen was the runt of a litter of nine. She was
the smallest feline I had ever seen when I picked her up as a kitten. We
called her Lolita and she was a magnificent cat who traveled in her
harness all over London with me, abusing public transport in a very loud
voice. Lolita was never frightened, but had a shocking prejudice against
dogs which made her an unpredictable companion. Tiny though she was she
knew she was really a Super Cat with a mission to rid the world of canine
scum.
The prefix 'Tumbili' is from an African (swahili) word meaning monkey. This
came about when we lived in a flat and the cats used to sunbathe on the
window sill. Many of our neighbours asked us about the monkeys we kept! At
least two of the cats at that time were lead trained which did not help the
situation.
Our kittens are bred for character and fitness. We are less interested in
looks. We rear the kittens at home in a joint effort with all the cats, and
hope to produce splendid companions to the chosen.
